Know your city's art? Help us map it.

PublicArtMap is built by people who care about the art around them. Contributors add works, write their stories, source photographs and curate walks — and everything is reviewed and credited.

PublicArtMap is a work in progress, built with a small invited group while we map the first cities. Edinburgh is the one we're mapping now; tell us about anywhere else in the UK and we'll keep your place until it opens. Every change is reviewed and credited before it goes live.

Map a statue, mural, memorial or piece of street art that isn’t here yet — with its location, type and the story behind it.

String works together into a self-guided trail through your city, with notes for each stop.

Editorial guidelines

A few principles keep the map trustworthy and reusable — the essentials are below, and the contributor guide covers the whole workflow, from signing in to sourcing photographs:

Stick to facts you can support, and cite a source where you can.
Write plainly and neutrally — let the work and its history speak.
Only upload photos you have the right to share, under an open licence.
Respect living artists and communities; flag anything sensitive.
