Beta This is a new service and a map in progress — works, photographs and cities are still being added. Your feedback helps.

Contributor programme

Know your city's art? Help us map it.

PublicArtMap is built by people who care about the art around them. Contributors add works, write their stories, source photographs and curate walks — and everything is reviewed and credited.

PublicArtMap is a work in progress, built with a small invited group while we map the first cities. Express interest below and we'll set you up — every change is reviewed and credited before it goes live.

Ways to help

Improve records By invitation

Fix a date, correct an attribution, or flesh out a description. Every edit is reviewed and credited.

Review photos By invitation

Approve, reject and source openly licensed images for your city.

Add works Coming soon

Map a statue, mural or memorial that isn’t here yet — with its location, type and the story behind it.

Curate walks Coming soon

String works together into a self-guided trail through your city, with notes for each stop.

Editorial guidelines

A few principles keep the map trustworthy and reusable. We'll publish fuller guidance as the contributor tools open up, but the essentials are:

  • Stick to facts you can support, and cite a source where you can.
  • Write plainly and neutrally — let the work and its history speak.
  • Only upload photos you have the right to share, under an open licence.
  • Respect living artists and communities; flag anything sensitive.
